Redesigning the Historic St. Georgenberg Monastery Garden
Public Space
Overview
The City of Frankenberg Municipal Authority entrusted us with revitalizing the historic St. Georgenberg Monastery. We aim to give it a fresh and renewed appearance while carefully preserving the site's historically documented 18th-century structure.
We transformed St. Georgenberg Monastery’s courtyard and garden into a vibrant space with lush perennials, a teaching bed of historical medicinal plants, and edible features like herbs, berries, and apple trees. With inviting paths, benches, and a central fountain, it offers a tranquil retreat. Paved areas were replaced with herb lawns, enhancing sustainability and natural beauty.
